African Safaris Hub Kilimanjaro
Kilimanjaro · Machame Route · VIP
The full VIP treatment on Kilimanjaro’s most scenic route — scented towels at camp, hot foot baths, a private ensuite, and a celebration cake waiting at Uhuru Peak.
Overview
You climb the same iconic Machame Route — five climate zones, the Shira Plateau, the Barranco Wall, and a sunrise summit on the Roof of Africa — led by our senior guides with the same acclimatization-first pacing that gets climbers to the top.
Layered onto that climb is our VIP upgrade: a warm, scented towel waiting for you at camp each afternoon, a soothing hot foot bath served in a silver bowl, and your own private ensuite tent with a hot shower. At Uhuru Peak, your effort is marked with a custom celebration cake — a small, memorable touch most climbers never expect on a mountain.
It’s the full Kilimanjaro adventure, softened at exactly the moments that matter most.

What sets it apart
Day by day
After your briefing and transfer, you climb through lush rainforest to Machame Camp — where a warm scented towel and a hot foot bath greet you at the end of the trail.
The forest opens into moorland, with the summit coming into view across the Shira Plateau. A shorter day, ending in your private ensuite tent with a hot shower.
A key acclimatization day: climb high to Lava Tower (4,630m), then descend to sleep lower at Barranco. “Climb high, sleep low” prepares your body for the summit.
The day begins with the iconic Barranco Wall — a fun, non-technical scramble with huge views. A short day to Karanga; this extra acclimatization night strengthens your summit odds.
A steady climb to Barafu, the summit base camp. You arrive early, rest well, and prepare through the evening — because tonight, you climb.
You set off around midnight for Stella Point and Uhuru Peak — the Roof of Africa — for sunrise. A custom celebration cake awaits your summit moment before you descend to Mweka Camp.
A final descent to Mweka Gate for your summit certificate, then a transfer to your hotel for a hot shower and a proper celebration.
The details
Good to know
No technical skills needed, but good general fitness helps. The VIP comforts support better rest between trail days.
The route and safety are identical to our standard climb — the VIP experience adds warmth, comfort touches, and a celebration at the summit.
Twice-daily health checks, emergency oxygen, and the extra acclimatization day are all built in as standard.
The dry seasons — January to March and June to October — offer the clearest, most reliable conditions.
Climb the Roof of Africa, and let us take care of the rest.
