African Safaris Hub Kilimanjaro
Kilimanjaro · Lemosho Route · VIP
The most complete way to climb Kilimanjaro: a dedicated senior guide, first-choice campsites, a private vehicle, and full luxury camping, on the scenic western Lemosho Route.
Overview
The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as the most scenic way up Kilimanjaro — a quieter, western approach through untouched rainforest and across the wide Shira Plateau, with some of the best acclimatization profile on the mountain. Our VIP package pairs that route with a standard of service built for climbers who want every detail handled.
You'll climb with a dedicated senior guide assigned to your party alone, not shared across groups. Our crew departs early each day to secure first-choice campsite positioning before other operators arrive. A private vehicle handles all your transfers, and your two hotel stays include a welcome dinner on arrival and a farewell dinner after your summit.
On the mountain, this is Luxury-tier comfort as standard: private ensuite sleeping tents, a dedicated chef preparing meals to order, and proper camp beds rather than mats — plus everything else our standard climbs include, from emergency oxygen to twice-daily health checks.

Trip highlights
Day by day
Your private vehicle collects you for the scenic drive to Londorossi Gate on the mountain's quieter western side. A gentle first day through dense rainforest brings you to Mti Mkubwa — "Big Tree" — Camp, where your crew has your ensuite tent and a hot meal ready.
You climb clear of the forest onto open moorland, with your first real views back across the plains. Your guide sets a deliberately unhurried pace here — there's no benefit to rushing this stage of acclimatization.
A shorter day crossing the wide Shira Plateau, with Kibo's summit dome visible ahead for the first time. Camp is reached early, giving your body extra time to adjust before the harder days ahead.
The key acclimatization day: you climb to Lava Tower at 4,630m for lunch, then descend to sleep lower at Barranco Camp. "Climb high, sleep low" is the single most important principle in reducing altitude risk, and this day puts it to work.
A short but memorable day starting with the Barranco Wall — a non-technical scramble with big exposure and bigger views. Camp is reached by early afternoon, leaving time to rest before the push toward Barafu.
A short climb to Barafu Camp, your summit base, followed by rest before a midnight departure. Your senior guide leads the long ascent to Stella Point and on to Uhuru Peak for sunrise — the Roof of Africa. After summit photos, you descend all the way to Mweka Camp.
A final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate for your summit certificate. Your private vehicle returns you to your hotel for a hot shower, followed by a farewell dinner to celebrate the climb.

Questions
Luxury covers the on-mountain comfort — ensuite tents, a dedicated chef, real beds. VIP includes all of that plus a senior guide dedicated to your party alone, first-choice campsite positioning, a private vehicle for every transfer, and welcome and farewell dinners.
Yes. VIP climbers are never merged with another group on the mountain or in transfers. Your crew, pace, and schedule are set around your party only.
No. Lemosho is a non-technical trek — there's no rope work or climbing skill required. The main challenge is the altitude, which the route's naturally gradual profile is well suited to managing.
Lemosho approaches from the quieter western side, sees fewer climbers on the trail, and generally offers a stronger acclimatization profile across the extra distance — a good match for climbers who want comfort and a smoother adjustment to altitude, not just speed to the summit.
