Kilimanjaro · Women’s Group
A supportive women’s group journey on Kilimanjaro’s longest route, combining gradual acclimatization, quieter trails and shared determination all the way to Uhuru Peak.
Overview
The Northern Circuit is Kilimanjaro’s longest established trekking route, circling around the quieter northern side of the mountain before joining the final approach to Uhuru Peak. Its gradual profile gives the group more time to adapt to altitude while enjoying wide views and fewer crowds.
This women’s group climb is designed for travelers who want the challenge of Kilimanjaro with the encouragement and camaraderie of a female group. The pace is steady, the days are structured around acclimatization, and there is time to settle into the rhythm of life on the mountain.
No technical climbing skills are required. The real challenge is sustained hiking at altitude, so the emphasis throughout the route is on sensible pacing, hydration, rest and close attention to how each climber is feeling.

Trip highlights
Day by day
After the group briefing and transfer to Londorossi Gate, begin the trek through lush rainforest. The first day is intentionally steady, giving everyone time to settle into the trail and group rhythm before the higher camps.
The trail climbs out of the forest into open moorland, with giant heather and changing views of Kilimanjaro. A gradual ascent keeps the focus on pacing and acclimatization.
A shorter acclimatization day across the Shira Plateau. The group can walk at an unhurried pace while taking in expansive volcanic landscapes and views toward the summit.
Leave the main western trail and head toward the northern side of Kilimanjaro. The landscape becomes increasingly sparse as the group climbs toward Moir Hut, with plenty of time to settle before the higher stages.
A classic Northern Circuit day across remote high-altitude terrain. The route rises and falls through valleys and ridges before reaching Buffalo Camp, where the group rests above the northern plains.
Continue around the northern slopes with changing views of the mountain and Kenya. The route gradually descends toward Third Cave Camp, giving the group another useful recovery night before the summit phase.
A focused climb toward School Hut, the final camp before the summit attempt. Rest, hydrate and prepare your clothing and equipment because the summit push begins later this night.
Begin the summit attempt around midnight. Climb slowly toward Gilman’s Point and onward to Uhuru Peak for the ultimate shared achievement. After photos and a short celebration, descend toward Millennium Camp for rest.
The final descent returns to the lush lower slopes and Mweka Gate. After completing the route and receiving summit certificates, transfer back to your hotel for a hot shower and a well-earned celebration.
