African Safaris Hub Kilimanjaro
Kilimanjaro · Northern Circuit
The mountain's longest, highest-success route, climbed at the top service tier — senior guide, first-choice camps, and every detail handled.
Overview
The Northern Circuit is already Kilimanjaro's longest route and the one with the highest published summit success rate — looping the quiet northern slopes near the Kenyan border, a side of the mountain most climbers never see. Our VIP tier climbs it with nothing left to chance.
You get our most experienced senior guide, first-choice camp pitches arranged ahead of other groups, a private vehicle for every transfer, and welcome and farewell dinners bookending the climb. On the mountain, that means ensuite tents, a private chef, and a crew whose sole focus is your comfort and your summit.
Every VIP climb still carries the essentials as standard: emergency oxygen, twice-daily health checks, and the built-in acclimatization that gives the Northern Circuit its success rate in the first place. VIP adds comfort and priority — it doesn't cut corners on safety to get there.

Trip highlights
Day by day
A private vehicle collects you for registration at Londorossi Gate, then transfers you to the trailhead. A gentle first day through dense montane rainforest brings you to Mti Mkubwa, where your ensuite tent and welcome dinner await.
The forest thins into heather and open moorland as you climb onto the edge of the Shira Plateau, with your first real views of Kibo's summit dome. Your crew has your first-choice camp pitch ready and waiting.
A long, gradual crossing of the Shira Plateau before branching north off the standard Lemosho line toward Moir Hut, a quiet camp beneath the Lent Hills.
The longest walking day of the trek, tracing the remote northern traverse with sweeping views across the Kenyan plains. Your senior guide paces the day around your group; camp and a full hot dinner are ready on arrival.
The circuit continues east, joining the upper reaches of the Rongai line. A shorter day that lets your body settle before the final push toward summit camp.
A short, steady climb to School Hut, your final camp before the summit attempt. Your chef sends you off with an early, calorie-rich dinner before early lights-out — summit night starts around midnight.
Your senior guide leads the summit push in darkness, reaching Uhuru Peak — the Roof of Africa — around sunrise. After summit photos, a long descent brings you down through changing terrain to Mweka Camp, where a warm meal and your farewell dinner send-off await.
A final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate. Your private vehicle transfers you back to your hotel for a hot shower and a proper celebration.
