African Safaris Hub Kilimanjaro
Kilimanjaro · Machame Route · Luxury
Kilimanjaro’s most scenic route, climbed in genuine comfort — private ensuite tents, walk-in sleeping tents with real beds, and chef-prepared dining at altitude.
Overview
The climb is the same iconic Machame Route — five climate zones, the Shira Plateau, the Barranco Wall, and a sunrise summit on the Roof of Africa — led by our senior guides with the same acclimatization-first pacing that gets climbers to the top.
What changes is everything around the climbing. You return each day to an oversized walk-in tent with a proper raised bed, a private ensuite bathroom tent with a hot shower, and gourmet meals prepared by a mountain chef and served in a dedicated dining tent. A larger crew looks after the details so you can simply enjoy the mountain.
It’s Kilimanjaro without roughing it — the adventure of a lifetime, with the comfort you’d expect off the mountain.

What sets it apart
Day by day
After your briefing and transfer, you climb through lush rainforest to Machame Camp — where your walk-in tent, hot shower, and a chef-prepared dinner are waiting.
The forest opens into moorland with the summit coming into view across the Shira Plateau. A shorter day, ending with hot drinks and dinner served in your private dining tent.
A key acclimatization day: climb high to Lava Tower (4,630m), then descend to sleep lower at Barranco. “Climb high, sleep low” prepares your body for the summit.
The day begins with the iconic Barranco Wall — a fun, non-technical scramble with huge views. A short day to Karanga; this extra acclimatization night is what strengthens your summit odds.
A steady climb to Barafu, the summit base camp. You arrive early, dine well, and rest in comfort through the evening — because tonight, you climb.
You set off around midnight for Stella Point and Uhuru Peak — the Roof of Africa — for sunrise. After your summit celebration, you descend to Mweka Camp for a well-earned, comfortable rest.
A final descent to Mweka Gate for your summit certificate, then a transfer to your premium hotel for a hot shower, a proper bed, and a celebration.
The details
Good to know
No technical skills needed, but good general fitness helps. The luxury comfort supports better rest and recovery each night.
The route and safety are identical to our standard climb — the upgrade is entirely in comfort, food, and service at camp.
Twice-daily health checks, emergency oxygen, and the extra acclimatization day are all built in as standard.
The dry seasons — January to March and June to October — offer the clearest, most reliable conditions.
Climb the Roof of Africa the luxurious way.
